The House of Squiggles

By jonasNov 21, 20232

When I first laid eyes on the mid-century white splendor on Broadview Terrace, I must confess, it felt more like destiny than a mere real estate acquisition. Perched on a Hollywood Hill overlooking the sprawling city of Los Angeles, I stood at the edge of my future home, gazing out towards an ocean mirage that danced on the horizon.

April's breath was sweet with the scent of new beginnings when we made the purchase. Enveloped by a shimmering LA spring, the house was more than walls and windows; it spoke of dreams in the wake of the Hollywood stars.

Now, the journey that led me here was as unconventional as it gets. You see, it's not every day that you hear someone bought a house using 'squiggles.' Yet, here I was, a tangible testament to the digital age, holding the keys thanks to my collection of NFT artworks - the Chrome Squiggles. Designed by the innovative Snowfro on the ArtBlocks platform, I had found these digital gems early, watching them burgeon in value with the same rapt anticipation I later reserved for sunsets from my new terrace.

Flamingo DAO was my collective, a digital brotherhood where the flames of artistic foresight were fanned. With their discerning eyes, we hunted the minting batches, and there I made my catch, a piece of history that would unfurl into this concrete haven for Rebecca and Audrey, my children.

The art, with its malleable curves and colors, had its hooks in me from the beginning. Tokenized, each Chrome Squiggle was a testament to a world where art lives and breathes through bits and bytes. Created by the visionary hands of Eric "Snowfro" Calderon, they marked the inception of ArtBlocks, carrying with them his storied legacy in modern art and NFTs. These moving squiggles were a digital ballet; one that would soon underpin the foundation of my children's LA sojourn.

Rebecca and Audrey have since woven their tales into the fabric of that home. Their laughter now rises with the LA smog, and their dreams ascend into the city's palms, promising futures as bright as the city lights below.

And as for me, I walk through life a squiggle richer, not just in art, but in heart. The squiggles still adorn my virtual walls, awaiting the day I clear my debt of gratitude. For now, they remain both the artist's stroke and the financier's handshake—a duality of joy that proves, indeed, you can have your house and your Chrome Squiggles too.
